

EXCLUSIVE: Idoma Nation Peace and Unity Symposium Set to Unite the Kingdom
In a bid to strengthen the bonds of unity and peace among the Idoma people, the Och’Idoma Agabaidu, HRM Pst. Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo John, is organizing a two-day symposium on peace and unity. The event, themed “Bridging Divides: How Dialogue and Trust Can Foster Peace and Unity,” promises to be a groundbreaking gathering that will bring together stakeholders from all walks of life to discuss the way forward for the Idoma Nation.
The Och’Idoma Agabaidu, HRM Pst. Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo John, has taken the initiative to organize this symposium as part of his efforts to promote peace and unity among the Idoma people. His vision for a united and peaceful Idoma Nation has been the driving force behind this endeavor.
The symposium’s theme, “Bridging Divides: How Dialogue and Trust Can Foster Peace and Unity,” highlights the importance of dialogue and trust in building a cohesive society. Through a series of presentations, discussions, and workshops, participants will explore ways to overcome the challenges confronting the Idoma nation and proffer solutions that will strengthen our peaceful coexistence.
The symposium according to a press statement e-sign by the Secretary , Central Planning Committee (CPC) Hon Olofu Gabriel will be chaired by Gen. G. O. Ejiga (Rtd), a renowned Idoma born general and a highly respected top retired General . His involvement lends credibility and weight to the event.
“The symposium has attracted key stakeholders from various sectors, including traditional leaders, government officials, community leaders, and civil society organizations.
“The event promises to be a platform for meaningful discussions and interactions that will shape the future of the Idoma Nation.
“The Idoma Nation Peace and Unity Symposium will take place on April 21st-22nd, 2025, at the Och’Idoma Palace, Otukpo, Benue State. The event will commence daily at 9 am, and participants are expected to arrive early to ensure a smooth registration process.
“The Och’Idoma Agabaidu has extended an invitation to all Idoma people, both within and outside the kingdom, to attend the symposium and contribute to the discussions. This event is a call to unity, and it is expected that the outcomes will have a lasting impact on the Idoma Nation.”
The Idoma Nation Peace and Unity Symposium Central Planning Committee is Chaired by General Gabriel Ede Ode (Rtd) while Chief Odatse- Peters Ph.D chairs the Publicity Sub-committee.
