DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: APRIL 13 TOPIC: THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE (2) SCRIPTURES: Genesis 3:7-10; Heb. 13:5
We were made by God to have relationship with Him. But somewhere along the line, the first humans (Adam and Eve) made a terrible mistake that brought a separation between God and man. We continue to rebel against God even up to this day; but God did not leave us without hope, He gave Jesus Christ through whom man can be reconciled back God. Therefore, don’t get lost on your journey and forget the power of His presence.
The great passion of God’s heart as He has revealed in His word from Genesis to Revelation, is to dwell in the midst of His people. Not just to dwell, but to have a manifest presence among His people. There is presence of God in the garden, in the tabernacle, and in the temple. This is the pinnacle of God’s revelation of Himself. There is presence of God in Immanuel – God with us. The presence of God was seen in Pentecost, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and His works, His person and His ministries.
How much of the presence of God do you know? Or how much of the manifest presence of God do you know? Surely, God is omnipresent, He is all- present, He is everywhere present. Psalm 139: 7 – 11,”where can I go from your spirit? or where can I flee from your presence? The psalmist says; “If I ascend into heaven, you are there, if I make my bed in hell, behold you are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea, even there your hands shall lead me, and your right hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
You can’t escape from the presence of God, because His eyes are everywhere. But sin can make us hide ourselves from the Lord, therefore, we need to repent of every unacceptable Christian attitudes in order for the presence of God to manifest in our lives.
PRAYER POINT:
Oh God, my Father, whatever I have done wrong, I plead for your mercy. I cannot run away from your presence, have mercy on me and give me another opportunity to correct my wrong in Jesus name.
