Ufia Workers Forum Congratulates Ado Local Government Chairman on Election Victory and Celebrates Improved Working Conditions

The Ufia Workers Forum (UWF),  Ado Local Government Council  recently paid a congratulatory visit to their elected Chairman, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche, expressing their strong support and appreciation for his leadership. The visit, which has taken place much after the October 5, 2024, General Election, highlighted the positive impact of Hon. Oche’s administration on the lives of local government workers.

Led by it’s Chairman Mr. Jackson Okeh, the delegation, comprised of Ado Local Government staff of Ufia extraction, praised Hon. Oche for his worker-friendly policies. Chief Knight Vincent Anma, spokesperson for the UWF, stated that the visit aimed to congratulate the Chairman on his election victory and formally express their confidence in both Hon. Oche and the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia (Ph.D).

The UWF specifically lauded Hon. Oche for restoring power to the Local Government Secretariat after a 15-year absence. This restoration, they noted, has significantly improved efficiency by enabling the use of electronic equipment essential for their work. They commended the chairman for installing solar-powered streetlights and providing solar-powered refrigerators in all local government health centers and primary health care units to preserve drugs and extend their shelf life. The Forum also urged the Chairman to address the decreasing number of Ufia employees due to retirements.

Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche expressed his gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of all council staff. He shared exciting news of Ado’s designation as the Zone C Operational Base for the Benue State Civil Protection Guard (BSCPG), “Operation Anyam Nyor,” highlighting the significant role Ado will play. He further reiterated his commitment to ensuring fairness and equity for Ufia people, promising increased job opportunities once local government autonomy is granted.

The visit concluded in an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and conviviality, underscoring the strong working relationship between Hon. Oche and the UWF. The Forum emphasized their satisfaction with the Chairman’s open-door policy and his willingness to listen to their concerns.
