An Abuja based media expert and entrepreneur, Hon. Yemi Itodo has described the appointment of Mr. Rawlins Emmanuel Agada as recognition for excellence and legislative acumen, stirring celebration across legislative sphere, Benue State and beyond.
“Mr. Rawlins Emmanuel Agada, a seasoned legislative expert and administrative trailblazer, has been appointed as the new Clerk of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, New Media and Cyberspace, Yemi Itodo avowed Agada’s wealth of experience spanning over two decade of legislative administrative as a resource for legislation.
“Mr. Agada, a native of Ipari Otukpa in Ai-Oodo, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, brings a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in legislative administration. His appointment by the National Assembly Service Commission marks a significant elevation in a distinguished career that has seen him serve both nationally and internationally.”
Agada has previously represented Nigeria at the Pan African Parliament’s Permanent Secretariat in South Africa and contributed actively to legislative processes at the Inter-parliamentary Union in Geneva, Switzerland. His tenure as President of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) at the National Assembly further underlines his leadership pedigree.
In May 2019, he was appointed Director of Information and Research at the National Assembly, where he championed major innovations such as the digitization of legislative proceedings, modernization of press accreditation systems, and the inauguration of the National Assembly’s New Media platform.
Two years ago, on June 26, 2023, Agada became the Deputy Clerk (Admin) of the House of Representatives before transitioning to the Senate in the same capacity. His continued excellence earned him further promotion to Deputy Clerk (Legislative), a position he held until his latest appointment.
