LACH Foundation Picks Up 50yrs Old Depressed Ex-Ebonyi NIMC Staff, Rehabilitates Her Alex Odeh

A non-profitable organization under the aegis of Luke Chibueze Adonwe Human Foundation (LACH ) has narrated how it spotted and picked up for rehabilitation a 50 -year -old depressed woman, Mrs Mary Nwojon (nee Nweke ), who had been feeding from various public waste dump sites in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

Briefing journalists at his office at No 14 Ojowere Street Abakaliki, on her recent breakthrough, the State Capital, Chief Executive and Founder LACH Foundation, Barrister Luke Chibueze said one of the major aims of the founfation was to provide care for the elderly, orphans, and vulnerable children.

Barrister Luke Chibueze further disclosed that Mrs Mary Nwojon became depressed following her alleged dismissal from National Identity Management Commission (NIMC )in 2024 without payment.

He added that for over one year, Mary Nwojon had been wandering from one dump sites to another in Abakaliki metropolis without bath and had also lost contact with her relatives.

The Chief Executive and Founder LACH Foundation, Barrister Luke Chibueze Adonwe stated that, in line with the Foundation’s belief cash, clothes, food and other relief materials had been handed to the Mrs Nwojon as a way of rehabilitating and reintergrating her back to the society.

According to him, the Foundation would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the woman who was disengaged by NIMC from her place of work without pay, gets justice and all remuneration accurable to her must be paid.

He said, “Our major aim is to care for the elderly, orphans, and vulnerable children. Promote community peace and civil security volunteer initiatives. Advance human rights, justice, and consumer protection (including electricity consumer rights) Improve access to healthcare, skills acquisition, and education. Empower communities through agriculture, industrialization, and economic development projects. Provide humanitarian support during crises and disasters. Advocate for transparent governance, equity, and sustainable development among others and that is what we have started doing “. Adonwe said.

Mrs Mary Nwojon appreciated the LACH Foundation, saying she was grateful to God who had inspired the Foundation to come to her help.

“My name is Mary Nwojon, born at Ndiegu Achara Ikwo, in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, I am 50 Years Old, my problem which I would like this Legal Foundation to help me is that I was disengaged from service in 2024 from National Identity Management Commission NIMC.

” I was disengaged because Director General said those who don’t have Bachelor Degrees should disengaged and since then, I have been on the street depressed and I have been feeding on debris we were 4029 staff who were affected.

“Today, Luke Chibueze Adonwe Human Foundation (LACH Foundation) has picked me up from where I was picking debris and gave me shelter, food, Relief Materials and health care which has gone a long way in taking care of me.

“I thank the foundation because it has even promised to take over my matters until I get all my benefits from the Federal Government where I have contribute a lot”. Nwojon added.

All efforts to to hear from the Head, National Identity Management Commission NIMC, Ebonyi State office, where she claimed to have worked before her disengagement proved abortive as he was not picking calls as at the time of filling this report.
