Army Logistics Chief Visits OPHK, Calls for Timely Feedback to Sustain Counter-Insurgency Gains

The Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST) of the Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Anaryu, has stressed the importance of timely and realistic logistics feedback from the theatre of Joint Task Force North East (JTF NE), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), to sustain ongoing counter-insurgency successes in the North East.

Maj Gen Anaryu according to a press release e-signed by Information Officer, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Mediaon made the call on Saturday, 14th September 2025, during his familiarisation visit to Headquarters Theatre Command OPHK in Maiduguri, where he was received by the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

Describing logistics as the “backbone of every military operation,” the CCST highlighted the need for synergy between the Theatre Command and the Corps of Supply and Transport to effectively address operational demands. He explained that his visit was aimed at obtaining first-hand information on the theatre’s logistics requirements and interfacing with field commanders for practical solutions.

While commending Maj Gen Abubakar’s leadership, Maj Gen Anaryu urged commanders to prioritise troop welfare and morale in line with the “Soldiers Come First” concept of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede.

He also assured of measures to tackle challenges such as the shortage of trained drivers and the need for standard vehicle sheds in the theatre.

In his response, Maj Gen Abubakar welcomed the CCST and praised the Corps for its continuous support to Operation HADIN KAI. He pledged sustained collaboration in logistics, training, and operations, while acknowledging the quality of officers deployed by the Corps to the theatre.

The visit featured an interactive session with field commanders, a presentation on OPHK’s operational activities, an exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
