The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber who has been on its wanted list, recovering a pump action gun and live ammunition during the operation.
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, effected the arrest at midday on September 20, 2025, in Abagana.
“The suspect, one Kingsley Eze, male, aged 34 years, has been on the Police wanted list for alleged involvement in armed robbery,” Ikenga stated.
According to the command, the suspect was found in possession of a Magnum Pump Action gun and twelve (12) live cartridges, which were recovered during the arrest.
Ikenga added that Eze is currently in custody undergoing interrogation. “He would be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigations,” the statement affirmed.
The Anambra Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to intensifying operations against armed robbery and other violent crimes in the state.
