DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: DECEMBER 8 PRAISE CAN BREAK UP LOCKED DOORS (1) SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: ACTS 16: 25

Life has always been surrounded by seemingly locked doors around humanity. In one way or the other, we all had witnessed prison like situations. In the spirit realm, we are prisoners seeking for freedoms. To be freed, we have been made to be embarking on midnight prayers. This again hardly give the expected quick answers to our prayers. In this our month of praise, I enjoin every one of us to resort to singing and praising God like Paul and Silas as recorded in the passage above. As contained in the story, the enemies had locked up Paul and Silas firmly thinking they will never escape. Their hands and legs specially bounded to a heavy iron. Yet, Paul and Silas looked away from human made chains and locks and began singing to God praising Him with joy and gladness. Suddenly, something happened! There was commotion, followed by earthquake. At that moment, all the doors were opened. The chains holding Paul and Silas bound broken.

Do you think you have been the prisoner of evil forces or that of power beyond your powers? Have you prayed and prayed, holding vigil and midnight prayers? Today, revert to singing to God and praising Him. Do this in faith and active hope in God. Don’t tell me you’re neither Paul nor Silas. Build up your faith and also, know that the God of Paul and Silas is still your God. I can see your doors locked against you giving ways today. Your locked doors are opening from this moment till midnight when the final miracle will take place.

Please, don’t look at the sizes and degrees of your problems while singing and praising God. Paul and Silas didn’t do so, but sincerely, faithfully and hopefully trusted God while singing and praising God. Perhaps, they were not expecting divine intervention but rejoicing to have been counted worthy in sharing the suffering of Jesus Christ. Whatever their thinking might be is not important here; but the truth at hand is their singing and praising God opened all the doors of the prison. Your locked doors are opening today. Just begin singing and praising God this morning and continue till midnight. You will testify tomorrow in Jesus name.

PRAYER:

JOHEVAH EL SHADAI, you are wonderful and powerful. There is no other power behind you. I pray that angels of God open every locked doors and windows against things you prepared for me this year. Let my blessings pour upon me before the end of this month in Jesus name.
