The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Senator Joseph Igiegbe Ikpea, has congratulated the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, on his prestigious recognition as Governor of the Year in Education.
Speaking with members of the press in Abuja, Senator Ikpea described the award as well-deserved and a reflection of purposeful leadership and unwavering commitment to human capital development.
According to the distinguished senator, success is not measured merely by the position one occupies in life, but by the obstacles one overcomes and the impact one makes in the lives of the people. He noted that the governor’s strides in the education sector within less than two years in office have been nothing short of extraordinary.
Senator Ikpea emphasised that the people of Edo State made the right decision in entrusting leadership to Governor Okpebholo. He commended the governor’s reforms, infrastructural investments, policy innovations, and renewed commitment to improving standards in primary, secondary, and tertiary education across the state. He added that education remains the most powerful instrument for combating poverty and driving sustainable development in any society.
The senator further called on all Edo citizens to continue supporting the administration’s developmental agenda, stressing that collective backing is necessary to consolidate the gains already recorded. He reaffirmed his commitment, as a representative of Edo Central, to collaborate with the state government in advancing policies that uplift the people and secure a brighter future for the younger generation.
“Congratulations, Your Excellency,” Senator Ikpea concluded. “More grease to your elbow as you continue to serve our dear state with dedication, vision, and excellence.”
