Senator Smart Adeyemi has congratulated the newly elected Kogi State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing their emergence as a significant step toward strengthening the party’s structure ahead of 2027 and sustaining ongoing political gains in the state.

In a statement issued on March 4, 2027, the former lawmaker welcomed Engineer Ezzu Mohmoh as Chairman of the Kogi State APC chapter alongside members of the State Working Committee (SWC), following their successful election at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center, Lokoja, on March 3.

Adeyemi expressed confidence in Mohmoh’s capacity to reposition the party, citing his wealth of experience as a grassroots politician, technocrat, reputable engineer, and immediate past Special Adviser on Project Monitoring. He said he is banking on the new chairman to drive the political re-engineering of the APC in Kogi State and consolidate the gains recorded under the immediate past chairman, Hon. Abdul Dollar.

The senator urged the new leadership to sustain the momentum of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s Continuity 2027 agenda, emphasizing the need for an open-door policy and democratic engagement in party administration.

Adeyemi also commended Governor Ododo for ensuring a rancor-free state congress, attributing the peaceful process to the governor’s political maturity, inclusive stakeholder engagement, and growing acceptability across party structures—from the Presidency and National Secretariat to the grassroots. He further noted improvements in governance and security as factors strengthening the party’s unity and public support in the state.

Paying tribute to Hon. Abdul Dollar, the immediate past State Chairman, Adeyemi thanked him for his dedication and leadership from the era of former Governor Yahaya Bello through the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo. He described Dollar as one of the most successful state party chairmen in Kogi’s history, crediting him with leading the APC to a series of electoral victories.

The senator wished the former chairman greater responsibilities in future engagements and extended his best wishes to all newly elected APC State Executive Committee members at the state, local government, and ward levels for a successful tenure.
