“OWC Picnic” And The Thin Line Of Decency

Picnic, a moment for people of shared views, faith, ideology or social affiliation to come together to warm up, dance, crack jokes and exchange pleasantries.

Each of such moments creates opportunities for people to make new friends and taste different kinds of delicious delicacies that they possibly wouldn’t experience in their life time.

Growing up, I had different experiences of Picnics, such memories are still fresh. I have seen the most decent picnic, I have equally experienced the most senseless where young people stooped so low to decadence, from the height of moral and decency.

I have witnessed decent picnic, no wide and compromising dance displays, no lowering of moral and ethical bars, no compromise on values and principles of godliness. Everything was done within the precinct of morals and integrity.

OWC Picnic is one picnic that seems off from what is decent and Godly. OWC– Organization of Wayward Characters. They are Christians of diverse faith. Many are Catholics who though communicants lack the basic traits of virtuous Catholics . Their dressing very transparent, skimpy and suggestive. Their dance steps obscene, defaming the name Christian and showcasing brand of waywardness and irresponsibility seen at red light parties and club environments.

Their ages varied but all are married, but the kind of mindsets that occupy their minds one that stink horribly.

This kind of party or picnics is gradually creeping into Catholic gathering where drinking is at its stupor level, dancing with the most suggestive gyration done and talks so flippant within the circle of profanity entertained.

OWC gather as groups, who possibly felt caged by the church’ environment, or restrained by family chores , but find a breathing space by gathering elsewhere, clad in a very hot dress, and express themselves in a most undignifying of their status as Christian faithful

I am using this platform to advise all the statutory bodies in the Catholic Church to be very vigilant not to be infiltrated by this set of Wayward Characters. God wouldn’t condone anything unchristain and undignifing of our values and principles as Catholic in the name of Picnics

As you plan your picnic this year for your Youth week. Mother’ day, Father’ day etc, remember who you are– Christian youths, Christian mothers and Christian fathers, members of pious association, reflection of who you are should be the basis of your picnic programs. Anything short of this should be avoided.

Your 40 days lenten observances shouldn’t end with Easter celebration. Your LENT ( LOCKING EVIL NEGATIVITY TOTALLY) in this lent should be sustained. Dancing worldly music suggestively is evil negativity. Wearing skimpy dresses is evil negativity. Wearing very revealing dresses is evil negativity, engaging in flippant and obscene talks is evil negativity. Eating and drinking without moderation are all evil negativity. Lock them totally.
