Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have recorded major successes in the North-East, neutralising terrorists, foiling planned attacks, and dismantling logistics networks of Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents in sustained offensives across the region.
The achievements were disclosed in a press release issued on April 4, 2026, by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI.
According to the statement, troops operating under Sector 2 in Geidam, Yobe State in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, engaged terrorist logistics suppliers following credible intelligence, leading to the neutralisation of three insurgents.
“Following a fierce encounter, three terrorists were neutralised while a logistics-laden vehicle was disabled,” the statement said, adding that recovered items included food supplies, mobile phones, and other materials intended for terrorist camps.
In a separate operation along the Konduga–Kawuri axis in Borno State troops successfully ambushed insurgents attempting to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
“The troops engaged the insurgents with decisive firepower, triggering an explosion that neutralised two terrorists,” it stated, noting that weapons and ammunition were recovered.
The statement further revealed that troops also detected and safely detonated another IED along the Ngoshe–Pulka road, preventing potential casualties and ensuring safe passage for commuters.
In Adamawa, troops under Sector 4, working with local hunters, arrested three suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP members in Mubi North Local Government Area.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that one of them had previously gathered intelligence on troops’ locations and activities and participated in a recent attack,” the statement disclosed.
Additional arrests were made in Mainok market, where troops apprehended three logistics suppliers and recovered livestock, mobile phones, and cash, further disrupting insurgents’ supply chains.
The military also intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorist elements, with two occupants found bearing gunshot wounds linked to earlier engagements with troops.
“They are currently in custody for further investigation,” the statement added, noting that other informants and collaborators were also arrested across the theatre, including a foreign national apprehended under suspicious circumstances.
The military high command commended troops for their resilience and professionalism, assuring that operations would continue with intensified momentum.
“Troops have maintained aggressive operations within the Area of Responsibility, effectively denying criminal elements freedom of action,” the statement said, urging personnel to sustain the ongoing efforts in the security and economic interest of the North-East.
