Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have escalated counter-terrorism operations across the North-East, neutralising suspected terrorists, arresting collaborators, and recording a fresh surrender in what military authorities describe as sustained pressure on insurgent networks.

The latest operations, conducted under Operation Desert Sanity V, targeted key infiltration routes and strongholds, further restricting the movement and logistics of terrorist groups operating in the region.

According to a statement from the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, signed by Sani Uba, troops achieved the breakthroughs through coordinated ground offensives and intelligence-led actions.

In one of the operations, troops working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force engaged insurgents moving from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis, killing four fighters and recovering weapons and supplies.

“Four terrorists were neutralised, while troops recovered one AK-47 rifle with ammunition and food items suspected to be part of terrorist logistics,” the statement said.

Military authorities added that troops returned from the encounter without casualties.

The command also disclosed that sustained patrols and clearance operations along strategic corridors, including Dambboa–Maiduguri, Dambboa–Gwoza, and the Goniri axis, have effectively disrupted insurgent movements.

In a separate operation, troops deployed at Kanama arrested two suspected collaborators during a stop-and-search exercise, recovering items believed to support terrorist logistics.

“Preliminary investigations revealed incriminating digital materials suggesting possible affiliation with terrorist elements,” the military noted, adding that the suspects are in custody for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, the theatre recorded the surrender of a suspected member of Boko Haram/ISWAP at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area.

The individual reportedly claimed he was abducted and forced into the group before escaping.

“The suspect is currently undergoing profiling and further investigation,” the statement added.

The military reaffirmed its resolve to sustain operations aimed at restoring peace and stability across the North-East.

“Operation HADIN KAI remains fully committed to its mandate of restoring lasting peace, security, and economic stability in the region,” the command stated.

It also urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies, while the Military High Command commended troops for their resilience and called for sustained operational momentum.
