BENUE KILLINGS: MORO, OYIJE VISIT EFEYI UGBOJU, CONDEMN GOVT INACTION OTUKPO, BENUE STATE
The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, PhD, and the PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr Ogbenjuwa Oyije Ocheakiti, yesterday paid a condolence visit to the blood-ied Efeyi Ugboju community in Otukpo Local Government Area.
The visit follows fresh violent attacks that left multiple residents dead, adding to a rapidly mounting death toll across Benue State.
Speaking during the visit, Senator Moro expressed deep grief over the persistent loss of innocent lives. He criticised the current administration’s handling of the security crisis, stating that citizens cannot be left at the mercy of marauders.
Dr Ocheakiti, a renowned security expert, slammed the Benue State Government for its failure to stem the tide of violence. He warned that the state’s security architecture has collapsed, leaving vulnerable agrarian communities completely unprotected.
The PDP leaders urged federal security agencies to intervene immediately, restore order, and halt the ongoing carnage in Zone C and the wider Benue State.
