Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are set to deepen their economic and investment relations as government officials, investors, business leaders and policymakers converge in Abuja for the Nigeria-Saudi Investment and Tourism Exhibition 2026, a high-level forum designed to unlock new opportunities for trade, investment and sustainable development between both countries.
The exhibition, themed “Promoting Economic Partnerships Between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” will hold on August 4 and 5, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, with a press conference scheduled as part of activities heralding the event.
Organisers said the exhibition is conceived as a strategic international platform to strengthen economic cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia at a time when countries are increasingly pursuing economic diversification and forging sustainable global investment alliances.
According to the organisers, the initiative builds on the long-standing diplomatic and economic relations between both nations, which span decades of collaboration in energy, oil and gas, petrochemicals, trade and investment, alongside enduring cultural and religious ties.
“The exhibition aims to establish an effective platform that brings together investors, major corporations, government entities and financial institutions to showcase investment opportunities and explore avenues for collaboration across key sectors,” the organisers stated.
They noted that the event follows the success of previous bilateral investment forums, which generated significant interest from stakeholders in both countries and demonstrated a shared commitment to translating diplomatic relations into practical economic partnerships and bankable investment projects.
The organisers explained that Nigeria’s vast natural resources, large consumer market and strategic position as one of Africa’s largest economies present enormous opportunities for investment in sectors such as oil and gas, agriculture, real estate, tourism and manufacturing.
They added that Saudi Arabia, through its ambitious Vision 2030 economic transformation agenda, offers significant financial resources, advanced technological expertise and a strong commitment to expanding foreign investment beyond the petroleum sector.
“The exhibition represents a significant step toward building a sustainable international platform that enhances economic integration between the two nations, opens new horizons for investment, and establishes an advanced phase of cooperation based on mutual interests and shared growth,” the organisers said.
The two-day event is expected to feature business networking sessions, investment showcases and strategic discussions focusing on priority sectors including energy, manufacturing, petrochemicals, agriculture, food security, real estate development, tourism infrastructure and technology-driven investments.
Organisers said the exhibition would also facilitate direct engagement between government officials, investors, financial institutions and business executives with the objective of encouraging strategic partnerships capable of driving economic growth in both countries.
Beyond investment promotion, the forum is expected to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, technology transfer and collaboration on emerging global investment trends, while reinforcing existing cooperation in the Hajj and Umrah sector within a broader framework of economic engagement.
The organisers expressed optimism that the exhibition would mark a new phase in Nigeria-Saudi Arabia relations by creating lasting partnerships that promote investment, industrial growth, job creation and sustainable economic development for both nations.
