The Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has inaugurated the National and State Executive members of Bello Muhammad Goronyo (BMG) Associates for Asiwaju/Shettima 2027, charging them to deepen grassroots engagement and ensure effective coordination across the seven North-West states.
The development was contained in a press release issued by the Office of the Honourable Minister of State for Works, signed by Abdullahi Mohammed, Special Adviser on Media to the Minister, following the inauguration held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Syde Resort, Raba Road, Kaduna.
As part of his support for the newly inaugurated structures, Goronyo presented eight Toyota vehicles to BMG Associates—one each for the seven North-West state structures and one for the National Executive—to facilitate mobility, grassroots engagement, stakeholder coordination and other organisational activities.
The Minister said the inauguration marked an important step in expanding the organisation’s structure and strengthening its engagement with communities and stakeholders across the region ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Goronyo, while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritising infrastructure development, said major projects being undertaken by the Federal Government were designed to improve connectivity, facilitate trade, expand economic opportunities and strengthen national integration.
He listed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Trans-Saharan Corridor, Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe corridor, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano corridor and Zaria-Gusau-Sokoto corridor among the strategic road projects being pursued by the administration.
The Minister also cited developments in the rail sector, including the Kaduna-Kano rail project and Kano City Rail Service, as well as the student loan scheme, as part of broader government efforts to improve transportation, education and economic opportunities.
On the political environment ahead of the 2027 elections, Goronyo called for unity, peaceful coexistence and responsible political engagement, while expressing support for President Tinubu completing his constitutional tenure and seeking a second term.
He also urged the newly inaugurated executives to conduct their activities with dedication, discipline, accountability and responsiveness to the needs and concerns of the people.
“The inauguration marked another important step in the development and expansion of the organisation’s structure and its engagement with communities across the North-West,” the Minister said.
Goronyo further called on members to maintain peaceful, respectful, inclusive and responsible engagement as they discharge their respective responsibilities.
The Secretary-General and Director of Strategy and Communication of BMG Associates, Engr. Harisu H. M. Jibrila, PhD, said the organisation emerged from the experience of its promoters who worked with Goronyo during President Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign.
Jibrila said their experience during the campaign enabled them to observe Goronyo’s leadership qualities, commitment and organisational capacity, which informed the decision to build a coordinated platform for engaging stakeholders and communities across the North-West.
Also speaking, Sheikh Haliru Maraya, Islamic scholar and member of the Kaduna State Special Hajj Committee, commended Goronyo’s leadership qualities, describing him as reliable, sincere and dependable. He urged effective communication of infrastructure and other development interventions to citizens.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, stressed the importance of strengthening engagement with women and youths, particularly on security, economic reforms, infrastructure and empowerment.
Similarly, youth representative and Regional Youth Leader, Abdullahi Abubakar Yola, urged young people to remain united and peaceful and reject violence, while calling for greater attention to education, skills acquisition, employment and youth empowerment.
The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group, Dr Umar Tanko Yakasai, emphasised the importance of unity, grassroots organisation and collective effort in strengthening BMG Associates across communities.
Other speakers, including Hon. Nasiru Shehu Bodinga, Hajiya Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi and Barr. Nasiru Regachikun, commended the initiative and called for sustained coordination among national, state, local government and ward structures.
The event was attended by political leaders, government officials, community leaders, women and youth representatives and other stakeholders from across the North-West.
Goronyo also paid tribute to former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, whom he described as a father, leader and mentor, acknowledging his contributions to political leadership and public service.
The Minister expressed appreciation to the organisers, executives and stakeholders for their participation and urged the newly inaugurated structures to remain committed to peaceful political engagement and grassroots mobilisation across the region.
