In a powerful show of unity, Barrister Chuzi Egede, MON, immediate past Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Benue State Ministry of Justice, led prominent Ufia leaders on a solidarity visit to the Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, at his country home in Ikpomolokpo.

The visit, which took place recently, celebrated Engr. Oche’s victory in the October 5, 2024, Local Government Elections and the subsequent affirmation of his mandate by the Appeal Court Tribunal on June 3, 2025.

Speaking during the visit, Barr. Egede according to a press report e-signed by the chairman principal private secretary,  Innocent Igelle expressed delight at what he described as “the return of the Chairmanship to Utonkon District,” commending the LG boss for his resilience.

“Engr. Oche has shown bravery and commitment to equity. I wish him success in his tenure and pray for his continued strength,” he said.

Chief Anthony Omirigwe, President General of the Ufia Development Association, reinforced the call for unity, urging the Ufia people to rally behind the Chairman. “This is our collective mandate, and we must stand by him. Engr. Oche represents fairness and inclusivity, and he deserves our full support,” Omirigwe noted.

Similarly, Chief Edwin Ogbu Ocheme, Ottra I of Ufia Kingdom, lauded Oche’s open-mindedness and generosity, describing him as a leader who listens and carries people along.

“He is open-minded and open-handed. We will continue to support him,” he assured.

Barrister Emmanuel Oche, another speaker at the event, described the visit as an opportunity to strengthen old bonds while urging Utonkon District to reclaim its political heritage.

“This is a moment for introspection. Ufia once produced political giants like the late J.B. Egwa, Michael Isah, Mathias Ejaka, and Sir Joseph Ikpoma. We must rise again to that stature,” he said.

In his response, Engr. Oche warmly welcomed his visitors, recalling shared history and emphasizing the importance of solidarity.

“Your show of support is deeply appreciated. Our unity is our strength, and together, we will restore the political relevance of Ufia. We must also honor the legacies of our past leaders such as the late Dr. Edwin Ogebe Ogbu (Och’idoma III),” the LG boss declared.

The visit, characterized by merriment and fellowship, also featured goodwill messages from Mr. White, a guest from Akwa Ibom State, and Mr. James Johnson Okpe, an aspirant to a traditional stool from Ekile Ward, both of whom underscored the importance of unity and collaboration.

The event concluded with a strong reaffirmation of support for Engr. Oche and a resounding call for continued unity within the Ufia community.
