The Leader of the Ado Local Government Legislative House, Hon. Agbo Adadu, has expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, and the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for the generous distribution of cows and rice to residents during the 2024 Christmas celebrations.
In a message personally signed by him, Hon. Adadu said the gesture brought relief and joy to families across the ten wards of Ado LGA. According to him, the Christmas cows initiative has now become a hallmark of the present administration, reflecting compassion and purposeful leadership.
He noted that, “The gift of Christmas cows, an initiative that has now become an annual ritual since the inception of the administration of Engr. Sunny Oche, once again demonstrated purposeful leadership and compassion for our people.”
Hon. Adadu recalled that in 2024, barely three months after assuming office, the chairman personally ensured fair and even distribution of the cows across all wards, saying this reinforced the values of unity and inclusion. He said, “The Chairman personally supervised the equitable distribution of cows to all ten wards, reinforcing the values of fairness, unity, and inclusion.”
The legislative leader also praised the distribution of rice to residents, describing it as timely support that eased economic pressure on many households during the festive period. He stated that, “The distribution of rice across the ten wards provided timely relief to beneficiaries and eased the burden of the festive season.” He added that the intervention ensured that families “could celebrate with dignity, requiring only minimal additions to make the season truly fulfilling.”
Looking ahead to the New Year, Hon. Adadu assured that the Ado Legislative House would continue to strengthen collaboration with the executive arm of government for the benefit of the people. He stressed that councillors returning from recess were fully prepared to discharge their duties effectively, saying, “Our Councillors, having returned from the recess well refreshed, are fully prepared to be alive to their responsibilities in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.”
He prayed for God’s continued guidance for Governor Alia and Chairman Oche, acknowledging their commitment to the welfare of Ado citizens. Concluding, he said, “Once again, we thank His Excellency, Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and our indefatigable Chairman, Engr. Sunny Oche, for their consistent commitment to the welfare of the people of Ado. May God continue to grant them wisdom and strength in service.”
