The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed that its existing zoning arrangement for National Working Committee (NWC) positions across states and geopolitical zones remain in force ahead of the party’s forthcoming National Convention.
In a press statement issued on Monday 16th March in Abuja by the party National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party cautioned aspirants seeking national offices to strictly adhere to the established zoning formula while purchasing and submitting their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
The directive according to the party is in line with the party’s published 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention and Related Activities, which clearly stipulates that the current distribution of NWC positions among states within the geopolitical zones remains valid and applicable to the upcoming convention.
The party further emphasized that aspirants must be guided by the zoning structure to ensure compliance with the party’s constitutional framework and maintain balance in the allocation of leadership positions.
The statement stressed that adherence to the zoning arrangement would help facilitate a smooth nomination process and preserve the party’s internal political balance ahead of the convention.
