Senator Jiya Engages with G10, Pledges More Development for Niger South

The Senator representing Niger South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Peter Ndalikali Jiya, has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more development-driven representation, leveraging the experience he has gained in the current National Assembly.

 

Speaking with Pan Afric Reporters correspondent yesterday shortly after an engagement with stakeholders (G10) yesterday at Hawthorn Suites, Abuja, Senator Jiya said his focus remains on deepening grassroots impact and expanding opportunities for constituents across the district.

 

Expressing committed to doing more for the people and ensuring that the dividends of democracy are felt in every community within Niger South.

 

The lawmaker  has several interventions already executed under his watch, particularly in agriculture and economic empowerment where his office has distributed modern farming inputs including spraying machines, power tillers, and fertilizers, alongside capacity-building initiatives and training for over 200 farmers, as well as 80 women and youths in poultry and fish farming, all aimed at strengthening the local economy and improving livelihoods in the district.

 


Beyond agriculture, Senator Jiya has attained some strides in infrastructure development across the district. These include the installation of solar-powered street lights, provision of motorized boreholes, and other interventions targeted at improving access to basic amenities.

 

The senator has also upscales improvements in the social sector, with  rural healthcare centres been upgraded, while school classrooms been renovated to enhance learning environments.

Reaffirming his long-term vision, Jiya expressed optimism about achieving even greater milestones if given another mandate in 2027.
