IGP DISU VISITS NIGERIA SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS, DEEPENS INTER-AGENCY SECURITY COLLABORATION

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Headquarters, Abuja, where he was received by the Commandant-General of the Corps, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration in internal security operations.

 

The IGP according to a press release e-signed by the Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, DCP ANTHONY OKON PLACID  emphasized the need for enhanced inter-agency synergy in addressing emerging security threats, noting that effective coordination among security agencies remains critical to national stability and public safety.

 

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening partnerships with sister agencies in advancing intelligence-led policing and improving operational efficiency across the internal security architecture.

 

In his response, the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, acknowledged the Nigeria Police Force as the lead internal security agency and commended the Inspector-General of Police for the visit, noting that it is the first of its kind by a sitting IGP to the Corps Headquarters, which he described as a clear demonstration of strong commitment to inter-agency collaboration.

 

He further appreciated the Nigeria Police Force for its continuous support to the Corps in the discharge of its mandate and advocated for the establishment of a Fusion Centre between the Nigeria Police Force and the NSCDC to enhance collaboration, cooperation, and coordination in addressing evolving security challenges across the country.

 

The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its commitment to building strong institutional partnerships with all security agencies in the collective effort to strengthen national security and ensure the safety of lives and property.
