The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government, Engr. Sunny Oche, has approved a cabinet reshuffle involving all five Supervisory Councillor portfolios following the meeting of the Finance and General Purposes Committee (F&GPC) held on Thursday, May 12, 2026.

The reorganisation forms part of ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen institutional effectiveness, improve governance outcomes, and accelerate service delivery at the grassroots level. The exercise is also aimed at revitalising the council’s administrative structure through the strategic redeployment of responsibilities across critical departments.

Under the new arrangement:

1. The Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs Jane Ikese, formerly Supervisory Councillor for Works and Housing, has been redeployed to oversee the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

2. Hon. Mathias Ogbala, previously in charge of Health and Humanitarian Services, will now supervise the Works and Housing Department.

3. Hon. Quivina Uloko, formerly responsible for Agriculture and Natural Resources, has been reassigned to the Health and Humanitarian Services Department.

4. Hon. Noble F. Abakpa, who previously supervised Education, Youths and Sports, has been redeployed to oversee Revenue and Finance.

5. Hon. Patrick Onmonya, formerly Supervisory Councillor for Revenue and Finance, will now supervise the Education, Youth and Sports Department.

The Chairman stated that the decisions were reached after extensive deliberations during the F&GPC session, with all Supervisory Councillors expressing readiness to assume their new responsibilities in the overall interest of the Local Government.

While addressing the council officials, the Chairman charged them to demonstrate integrity, commitment, and innovation in the discharge of their duties, while fostering effective collaboration with staff members across their respective departments. He reiterated that local government remains the tier of government closest to the people and must therefore continue to deliver tangible democratic dividends directly to communities at the grassroots.

He further urged the officials to avoid complacency and remain result-oriented, noting that public expectations of government have continued to rise. According to him, the administration remains committed to achieving measurable outcomes that will positively impact the lives of the people of Ado Local Government.

The Chairman wished all the Supervisory Councillors success in their new assignments as they assume their new responsibilities in service to the people of Ado Local Government.
