Ahead of the 2023 general elections and it’s permutations  about zoning or no zoning by some of the political parties, a group, Atiku Rescue Nigeria, has called on former Vice President, Alh Atiku Abubakar, to accept the callings of millions of Nigerians to immediately declare his intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria so as to rescue the country from total collapse.

The call was made Thursday in Abuja by the National Coordinator, Atiku Rescue Nigeria, Hon. Aminu Bala during a parley with the media.

Bala advised PDP members across the country, especially the delegates for the forthcoming Primaries to choose the right person and take over the Presidency or choose the wrong person to remain in the opposition.”

He added that: “the only person that has the capacity and widespread popularity across the country to dislodge the ruling party is Alh Atiku Abubakar. The choice is ours to make. We must be wise and make the right choice”.

Bala said the former Vice President worked with his principal to free Nigeria from a debt overhang of over $30 billion accumulated by Nigeria over a period of time when he was the Vice President and Chairman of National Economic Council on Privatization between 1999 and 2007.

He also said Atiku, a believer in education, established a university to train young Nigerians who would become future leaders and that he remains a major single employer of labour in Adamawa State and the entire North East and beyond.

Contining, he said: “Atiku believes in Economic Empowerment, and established a community bank where he specifically instructed the management to give 80% of all the loans to women, he believes that if you empower a woman, you empower a family and the society at Large. He is certainly a visionary leader and has the capacity, experience, fame spread across the country, a detribalized Nigerian who is a strong advocate of restructuring.”

According to the National Cordinator, Atiku Rescue Nigeria, as of today Nigerians yearn for a unifier, a true Nigerian statesman, who sees every part of the country as his own.

“There is no doubt that what Nigeria seeks is unity more than anything else. Thus those calling for presidency to be zoned to them are all within their democratic right, but they should note that there has to be a country first before zoning issues. Moreso every Nigerian has the right to aspire to any political office irrespective of where he or she comes from.

“In 2014, Boko Haram was restricted to the North Eastern part of Nigeria, now they have expanded their tentacles to the North West and North Central. Banditry, Kidnapping, ritual killings, political assassinations, internet fraud (Yahoo Yahoo, Yahoo Plus) are now the order of the day, for a government that promised to wipe them out in six months.

” It’s seven years already, Nigerians were deceived, they can no longer sleep with their eyes closed. Farmers have abandoned their farmlands for fear of attacks, the country is in disarray and has no sense of direction”.

“The most worrisome is that Nigeria’s economy as of today is gasping for breath as the economic managers wobble from one policy misstep to the other, cluelessly settling in borrowing as a cure-all solution to the nation’s economic woes. Nigeria today has a mountain of debts that has become unsustainable despite the posturing of our current leaders that have since elevated lies to State policy.

“You will recall that in August 1998, a truly National political party named People’s Democratic Party, was formed by members of numerous groups and Organizations including the G-18 and G-34. The prominent members among them include; Chief Alex Ekwueme, Alh Abubakar Rimi, Chief Sunday Awoniyi, Alh Adamu Ciroma, Alh Atiku Abubakar, Chief Bola Ige, Dr Ahmadu Ali, Chief Jim Nwodo and others.

“We at CECEF pray and hope His Excellency Alh Atiku Abubakar will respond to the call to rescue Nigeria, he stated.

Others at the briefing include; the South South Coordinator, Barr. Sam Chukwu, the National Media , Ogbuefi Chibuzor Nwaniya, other national executives of the group

I’m grateful to all the stakeholders, our leaders, our constituents and most importantly our governor who stood by us throughout the process. Above all, I thank God for giving us this opportunity to serve again.” The lawmaker described the turnout and mobilisation witnessed during the primaries as only a glimpse of what to expect during the general elections. “This is nothing compared to what will happen during the general election,” Kama stated confidently. “This is just a piece of cake for what is going to happen during the election proper.” Kama assured constituents that his second term would usher in greater development and more opportunities for the constituency. Reacting to questions about possible opposition challenges ahead of the general election, the commissioner dismissed fears, insisting the APC remained firmly rooted among the people. The APC primaries in the Ohanivo Federal Constituency recorded a large turnout of party faithful and supporters, setting the stage for what promises to be a keenly contested general election
