DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: FEBRUARY 12 NOT UNTO DEATH (3) Scripture: Job 14: 14

Spread the love

In this edition of the devotional, we will bring to readers, what looks like testimonies of a man who passed through terrible life situations, saw death but the result thereafter was a glorious life. It was a story of a man I met in South Africa in a place called Veliessiveh in 2007. We were on evangelism visiting houses. At the center table of the living room of the man was a printed card conspicuously displayed with an inscription “Death is Sweet.” He actually had prostate cancer and the wife had breast cancer. It was a top secret known to the lady who led us there. He was at the last year of the two years Doctors told him he has to live. Besides, he was taken for having mental case and was placed on drugs. While in a chart, I asked the man reason for the inscription. He told me of his emotional trauma due to misbehaviour of his daughter. He had harboured hate against his daughter for years. While talking, he told me that people have taken him for mental patient, but he was not.

While he was yet talking, the Spirit of God moved me to tell him that his problems were not sickness unto death. That if he can forgive the daughter life will return to him. A little while God came. He agreed to forgive the daughter and the wife he blamed being behind the daughter’s waywardness. For the first time after many years he laughed, embraced the wife. Cry of joy filled their hearts. He lives till date as the wife never called to inform me of his demise. What this explains is that, by faith and believe things thought to have death potentials may not certainly end up in death. Trusting in God in absolute term overturns deadly situations for good. Christians when talking about hard time usually referred themselves to a man called Job. This is a man who said: “I will not die till my change comes (Job 14: 14 KJV).

This devotional comes with such positive promises. You reading this devotional now will see the end of your troubles and not the trouble seeing your end. The decisions of your tyrant leaders in your country is not unto death. Hold on to God. There is joy at the end of the tunnel. The financial hardship confronting you all has limit. God will supply your needs miraculously till period of buoyant economy will visit your country. Victory hardly comes upon a coward; God often stands by a man of courageous heart. Be courageous in every situation. From the beginning of Joshua’s leadership he saw impossibilities. But God told him “Be courageous for I will be with you.” Joshua was able to lead the Israelites who Moses could not to the promised Land. What you are passing through is not unto death.

PRAYER:

Pray and ask God to be your shield and buckler till your ugly situation gives way for testimonial day. Like Job, speak to your soul to hold on till your change comes in the name of Jesus Christ.
