HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JULY 17 Topic: QUALITIES OF A VISIONARY (2). Scriptures: Pro 3: 6; Hab. 2: 2; Acts 3: 2 – 9
Yesterday we considered two out of the four qualities of a visionary. Today we shall be concluding with the remaining two visionary qualities, which Direction and purpose.
DIRECTION is the course along which someone or something moves. It is defined also as an order or instruction to be followed; instruction on how to get to somewhere. When you trust in the Lord, He will direct your paths. The responsibility of making your vision happen is solely yours. Earl Nightingale wrote and I quote, “If it is going to be, it is up to me.” Habakkuk 2:2. Running with the vision means taking action, not waiting for someone else to do everything for you. When Peter and John accosted the man by the beautiful gate and instructed him to rise and walk, until he leaped and walked, nothing happened.
Until you work out your vision, nothing works. Dreams can only come through when you wake up to make it happen. Because if a man dreamt of eating a particular food, that will not be a reality until he wakes up to cook it or buy it. If you do not do something about your vision, all you will have will be regrets. Be committed to your vision, people will read your actions and follow as far as you lead them. Let your vision make your life unstoppable. Let it increase your speed.
PURPOSE is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. A person’ sense of resolve or determination. Purpose is very important because it gives you a reason to wake up in the morning. Life becomes easier to live knowing that you have a purpose and you are able to achieve it. Your purpose should make you excited about life; it makes you to live your best. It is seen in 2 Tim 4: 7 – 8 how Apostle Paul was very excited that he didn’t live a wasted life, he fulfilled purpose. If you do not run your vision with a sense of purpose, you will miss your prosperity. So, it is no use sitting down and asking so many questions about life. It is important to wake up and start doing something in the direction of your vision. Therefore, do not abandon vision that have grown with you from childhood, keep adjusting them as you can, and continue to trust in God as He gives you the ability to make it happen.
PRAYER POINTS:
I) I surrender to you my God and my Father, my dreams, aspirations, and life vision; direct my paths unto accomplishments in Jesus Name.
2) Help me not to live a wasted life, grant me the grace to live a purpose – filled life.
CONFESSION:
I take responsibility for making my vision happen. I will work hard and be committed to my vision with a sense of purpose. Hallelujah!!!
