DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: OCTOBER 16 THE GAINS FROM BEING RIGHTEOUS (2) SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 5: 17; PROVERBS 11: 4

As seen in yesterday’s discussion, the blessings of righteousness are exciting. Many do not believe in this gospel and the reason is that they do not believe in God and Jesus Christ as should for them to receive the gift of righteousness (Rom. 5: 17).

The fifth blessing of righteousness is that it delivers people from death. This death is not physical death if the passage of Proverbs 11: 4 is understood textually.

The Bible says: Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death”. A woman was spared from being killed when armed men were to attack her. One of the armed guys recognized her as a kindhearted woman who usually feed young ones free. He pleaded for her safety. She got it through good relationship. Wealth hardly does this miracle!

(6).The easiest way to recognize a King in a crowd is the crown he/she wears. The quickest way to recognize a wealthy or a blessed person is in the clothes wear. The Bible says: “Blessing crowns the head of the righteous…” (Prov. 10: 6). This means when one keeps self steady in upright doing, God crowns him/her with blessings.

(7) The  most hopeless thing to experience is when one is in trouble and no one comes to his/her aid to deliver such a person. It is not true that the righteous does not encounter troubles. The righteous can be involved in trouble as many times as possible. But God surely goes to rescue that righteous person (Psa. 34: 18).

(8). There is this husband and wife who sold their minds to doing things with great caution never to attract blames._ Walking blamelessly is righteousness. This couple could be seen in troubles, dangerous afflictions from unseen forces. The amazing thing is that they have never been consumed by the troubles. Rather, they are seen by their neighbours receiving favour and honour with evidences of God shielding them.

The Bible says this: “For the LORD God is a sun and shield, the LORD bestows favour and honour; no good thing does He withhold from those whose work is blameless” (Psa. 84: 11). The beloved, as can be seen, blessings or benefits of righteousness are in thousands. We should be exited to dwell in righteous living no matter where we found ourselves.

PRAYER:

Pray asking God to make the children of God in our days see these blessings of being righteous and let them be moved toward living rightly in all their days on the earth in Jesus name.
