DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: OCTOBER 29 IF GOD BE FOR YOU (2) SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 8: 31; PSALM 118: 6 – 7

The last paragraph of yesterday’s devotional revealed one of the pillars King David leaned on to achieve the fame that earned him a great conqueror in his days. King David was one who looked his enemies as mere humans who can do him nothing as long as God is for him. King David is found different from Christians of the 21st Century who professed being filled with the Holy Spirit but quickly deflect from God in times of hardship or oppressions from mortal being standing face to face with demon dominated environments. King David emphasized more on his word in Psalm 118: 6 in verse 7 saying: “Yes, the LORD is for me, He will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me” (Psa. 118: 7 – Africa Study Bible).

Many people who know that God be for them look above their problems, hazards, trials and threatening from their enemies while expecting when triumph will emerge in their favour. King David testified of this in Psa. 54: 7 after he gained triumph from God’s help in in his favour. He said to God: “For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me triumph over my enemies” (Psa. 54: 7 – Africa Study Bible).

Those that God be for them know that God exhibit than in times of freedom. God uses His unfailing love to stand with those He is for them. King David expressed this in Psa. 59: 10a.

A great lesson is found in David’s statement in Psa. 59: 10a. Most of the 21st Century Christians believe that God shows His unfailing love upon His children by showering on them wealth and prosperities. Through King David’s speech here, we would know that God’s unfailing love is shown when He stands for us in distressful moments. Fellow brothers and sisters in Christ let us make it our faithful duty to trust that God’s unfailing love will surely see us through if God be for us. Through His unfailing love, He will let us look down in triumph (victory) on all our enemies (Psa. 59: 10b). Behind all troubles from your enemies stands divine triumphant helps for you!

PRAYER:

BLESSED FATHER, never allow me look at sizes of my enemies and their formidable plots against me with trembling. Enable me look at when my triumph will emerge in the name of Jesus Christ.
