DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONALS: DECEMBER 5 VALUING YOUR MIRACLES (1) SCRITPURE: HEBREWS 2: 4; MARK 8: 22 – 26
Generally, miracle is an extraordinary event or happening beyond human perceptions in form of healing and deliverance of people. Miracle is seen as a sign of God’s power, authority and sovereignty. The lead text attests that God uses “signs and wonders with diverse miracles… according to His own will (Heb. 2: 4 KJV).”
Biblically, there are four main accepted types of miracles. There is healing miracle which is curing of physical sicknesses and impairments. There are miracles of exorcisms which is casting out demons and unclean spirits. The third type of miracle is nature miracle that involves calming the storms and feeding of multitudes. The fourth type is restoration miracle which happens in raising the dead, restoring the almost dead one back to life. Any of these miracles are significant and awesome to be valued, no matter the grade it bears. Those who received any of these miracles in the days of Jesus Christ and His Disciples valued their miracles very dearly.
In this discussion, we are looking at the living of mankind as miraculous phenomena. Today’s devotional is looking at how Christians should take their surviving in life very important miracle. This is talking of placing premium value on the type of miracle extended to Christians. Most of those Jesus healed of their sicknesses and diseases; casted out unclean spirits from their lives; those fed during serious hunger as well as those He raised from dead valued and appreciated the miracles by following Him, anywhere He went proclaiming the gospels of God. Perhaps, they involved themselves in preaching the gospels to others from place to place where Jesus was not physically present. The young blind man Jesus healed of blindness in Bethsaida, even though told not to tell anyone in the city went out to broadcast his healing.
As Christians, we must exhibit how much we value our miracles by expressing our joy over what the Good LORD has done for us. All good miracles come from God and so we must express our joy toward God always. It is important to know that living from one day into another in good health or mild sickness is miraculous in nature. Living is an extraordinary phenomenon and has to be seen as miracle. We are not in good health because we have much good foods to eat. Wealth and riches have never guaranteed living in joy and happiness. Getting recovering from bankruptcy, business failure and from afflictions does not depict our ingenuity but stickily by divine intervention. This devotional wishes to tell readers to look back and see how far God has brought them into the month of December. It is act of faithfulness to value God’s miracle and keep praising God all through the month of December.
PRAYERS:
1. In prayer form, get into discovering several times you have been able to eat, sleep and wake up peacefully as well as recovering from any sickness. Open your mouth and tell God how much you value His gestures.
2. If you are to pay for the air you breathe for the past eleven months, you would have known how great a miracle God extended to you. Open your mouth and give God quality appreciation.
