Kwara Govt Announces 3MTT Cohort 2 Graduation and Hackathon
The Kwara State Government is pleased to announce the 3MTT (3 Million Technical Talents) Cohort 2 Graduation and Hackathon, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7th December 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Kwara State Library Complex Hall.
This remarkable event will celebrate the achievements of the 3MTT fellows who have completed the rigorous training program aimed at building a pool of technical talents to drive innovation and digital transformation in Kwara State.
The program is an initiative of the Federal government through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, which Kwara State has actively supported first by launching an intensive registration and sensitization drive across the 16 local government areas of the state between December 2023 and January 2024. The initiative has been supported by His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, the Governor of Kwara State. His unwavering commitment to digital innovation and human capital development was further demonstrated during the graduation of the first cohort where the Kwara Digital Economy Portal was also launched in May 2024, alongside the award of Prizes to deserving fellows. The state also makes provisions for laptops, which have been distributed to training centers to aid learning.
The theme of the event, “Driving Tech Innovation in Kwara”, underscores the state’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant tech ecosystem. The Hackathon segment will provide an avenue for fellows to showcase their innovative solutions to real-world challenges, reflecting the depth of their training and readiness to contribute to the digital economy.
His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, applauds the graduates for their dedication and encourages them to continue building on the skills they have acquired. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote digital literacy, innovation, and economic growth, emphasizing that the future of Kwara lies in the hands of tech-savvy innovators.
The event will feature notable dignitaries, including Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Honorable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy; Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, Kwara State Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology, Mr. Temi Kolawole, MD, Ilorin Innovation Hub; Ms. Tola Jimoh, Founder, Cyber Strategy Consulting Inc, Dr. AbdulRauf Uthman Tosho, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science, Data Science and Information Technology, Al-Hikmah University, Hon. Ishola Kayode, Special Assistant on Digital Innovations to the Governor of Kwara State, among other distinguished speakers, special guests, and panelists from the tech industry.
The Kwara State Government invites the general public, tech enthusiasts, and stakeholders to join in celebrating this milestone and witness the transformative impact of the 3MTT initiative on the state’s digital future.
