Ado Council Boss Salutes Governor Alia For Developmental Strides and Welfare of Benue Workers,Leads Harvest of Hope at St. Paul’s Catholic Parish, Utonkon

The Chairman of Ado Local Government, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche has saluted the transformative leadership and people oriented governance of Governor Alia development strides and welfare of Benue workers.
The Chairman commended the efforts of Benue State Governor, Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, praising his commitment to the development of Benue State with various ongoing capital projects and the welfare of the people, specifically citing the introduction of a ₦75,000 minimum wage. He described this as a testament to the principles of Catholicism that he strives to embody in his role as Local Government Chairman.
Council Chairman, Engr. Oche gave the commendation at the end of the Year Harvest and Bazaar of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Utonkon, in the Otukpo Diocese where he served as Chief Harvester. The harvest themed “The Harvest of Hope,” aimed to foster community spirit and raise funds for church projects.
Hon. Oche according to a press statement e-signed by the his Principal Private Secretary, Innocent Igelle actively participated in the Bazaar activities and demonstrated his deep-rooted connection with St. Paul’s Catholic Church, highlighting the church’s crucial role as a cradle of Catholicism and education in Northern Nigeria, recalling his own formative years at St. Paul’s Primary School and Mt. St. Michael’s Secondary School, Aliade. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness and its role in the continued growth and development of the church and Ado Local Government area.
In his role as Chief Harvester, Hon. Oche secured a mature goat, along with tubers of yam and plantains, with the highest bid of ₦200,000. He further solidified his support by making a generous donation of ₦1,000,000 towards church projects.
The annual bazaar played a dual role as a fundraising opportunity and a celebration of the harvest. The event was chaired by Chief Solomon Ogaragbo, with notable support from Barr. Emmanuel Oche, Bartholomew George Ebi, Hon. Andrew Odumu, Mr. Anthony Odumu, and Engr. Sunday Ogaga Ogbu (Abuja) among others.
