

The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the National Lottery Trust Fund(NLTF), Hon. Tosin Adewaju has commended National Assembly for graciously providing allocation agency in the 2025 budget.
The Executive Secretary who gave the commendation on Tuesday during the sitting of the Senate Committee on Sport at National Assembly also appealed for the fast-tracking of the Lottery Bill before the two chambers of the institution.
“First of all, I must commend National Assembly for giving us a budget, for not making the national lottery to die, for not making our staff to loss their jobs because the agency has done so much for this country, the people of this country across communities as regards intervention across Nigeria.”
Acquainting the committee on the activities of the agency since he assumed office, Hon. Tosin enumerated the agency’s tremendous intervention of the agency across several communities in the country.
Recall that agency since Hon. Tosin took over the helm of affairs has being providing educational aids, medical aids amongst other form of empowerment and intervention across communities in various state of the country
He also acquaints the committee of the his vision and mission inline with the mandate of the agency, nothing that at assumption of office, he developed a roadmap document which was launched by Mr. President at the Presidential Villa with which to drive the vision of the agency for the next four years but sadly noted that the effort was sabotaged by the supreme court verdict. He however expressed his commitment to salvaging the situation which will safeguards the employment of Nigerians.
“As I assume office, we developed a roadmap which was launched by Mr. President at the Presidential Villa to drive the vision of the agency for the next four years but unfortunately the issue of the state came and sabotaged that effort but I am working hard to salvage the situation.”
“There are two Bill here at the national assembly, one in the House of Representatives and one in the Senate, I will appeal to the leadership to consider harmonizing this bills and safe the organization from unnecessarily delay because this bill means a lot to sport industry because we are partners in progress, the agency is worked closely with sport industry in supporting and currently we are still supporting..”
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sport, Distinguished Sen. Abdul Ahmed Ningi in his closing remark expressed Senate commitment to the lottery trust fund, says they are studying the supreme court judgement on the matter, adding that the Senate is thinking out of the box to come up with a bill to addressing the issue.
“We are studying the supreme court judgement and we are thinking out of the box to come up with a bill on that.”
