Ado Chairman Celebrates Chief Okibe Onoja at 78, Hails His Philanthropy and Community Service

The Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Engr. Sunny Oche, has felicitated with Chief Dr. Okibe Onoja, CON, the Akanaba K’Idoma and Agama Y’Agila, as he marks his 78th birthday, describing the elder statesman as a distinguished son of Ado whose contributions to humanity have brought honour to his community and the nation.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman’s Principal Private Secretary, Innocent Igelle, cLMiH, mPPSN, MCAI, on behalf of the Ado Local Government Council.
Oche described the celebrant’s 78th birthday as a significant milestone, saying it offered an opportunity to reflect on a life defined by service, achievement, generosity and commitment to community development.
According to the Chairman, Chief Onoja has consistently deployed his resources, influence and experience to support individuals, communities and institutions, particularly in areas that directly affect the welfare and development of the people.
He specifically acknowledged the celebrant’s contributions to infrastructure, education and healthcare, citing the construction of the Agila–Akpoge Road and other road projects in Otukpo, support for indigent students and assistance to Nigerians seeking medical treatment abroad.
Oche also commended Onoja’s contributions to educational institutions, including Benue State University and the University of Mkar, describing such interventions as part of his broader commitment to human-capital development.
The Chairman further praised Chief Onoja’s record of public service and continued identification with his people and grassroots development, saying his experience, goodwill and commitment to humanity had earned him the respect of his community.
“Attaining the age of 78 is a significant milestone and an opportunity to celebrate a life marked by service, achievement and generosity,” Oche said.
He added that the celebrant’s contributions had made him “a respected elder and a source of pride to Ado Local Government,” stressing that his example remained significant to the younger generation.
Oche expressed the Local Government’s appreciation for Chief Onoja’s contributions to the development of the area and wished him many more years of good health, peace and fulfilment.
He also prayed that God would continue to grant the celebrant wisdom and strength to advance the cause of his community and humanity, while assuring him of the Local Government’s continued respect and willingness to benefit from his fatherly counsel and guidance.
