A socio-cultural organization, Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum has called on security agencies in Ebonyi State to immediately arrest one Cajetan Njoku over false publication against the Governor of the State, Francis Nwifuru.

This was contained in a press release titled “refutation of watery campaign of calumny against Builder Prince Francis Ogbonna” and signed by Comrade Andrew Chibueze Elom, National President, Hon. Chidi Ogbonna, National Secretary and six others.

The body which is the highest youth organ in Izzi clan said it was reacting to a publication by Cajetan Njoku captioned, “Ethnic capture in Ebonyi:A crisis of justice under Governor Nwifuru’s Watch” A Call for urgent intervention: The dangerous political bias brewing in Ebonyi State”

According to them, Ebonyi State under the watch of Governor Nwifuru had never been under the threat of ethnicity, kindred dichotomy and clanishess since he assumed office as against the insinuation of the author that the peace and unity of Ebonyi was under threat.

The statement reads in part: It is noteworthy that Ebonyi state under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has witnessed widespread of both appointive and elective positions across boards meritoriously irrespective of Clan, Geo political zone .

Moreover, the youth body also dismissed the claim by Cajetan Njoku on the procedure of producing traditional ruler in Izzi clan, saying it was not kindred based, but based on the opinion of the masses.

“From time immemorial constitution of the Traditional stool in Izzi clan has never been kindred-based. Usually, a traditional ruler emerges from a given community through the supports of the masses which has to do with open declaration.

They also expressed worry why the Minister of Works, David Umahi should be dragged into a matter ethnicity, kindred dichotomy and clanishess that doesn’t cornerns him, even as they explained that the people of Ebonyi South were adequately represented in the current administration-led by Nwifuru.

“We are aware that there is a section of this false publication wherein the writer followed an incendiary rhetorics by dragging-in the most performing Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Sen. Engr. David Nweze Umahi and the good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone who just passed on the baton of Governance to the people of Ebonyi North.

While declaring that they would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the right thing was done, the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum further called on security agencies to arrest Cajetan Njoku over seditous publication against former governors of Ebonyi State.

“We have also taken note of the dishonourable and foul languages used against the two former Governors of Ebonyi State, Their Excellencies Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi and wife, Sen. David Nweze Umahi and others who were mentioned in the false publication including Chief Mathias Adum —a worthy son of Izzi clan and an elder statesman.

“Such languages have no place in civil discourse and therefore were unwarranted. While Security agencies and civil institutions take note of this clearly seditious undertone, we will leave no stone unturned in making sure that the right thing is done”

They expressed optimism that they were not moved by antics of detractors and traudcers scattered all over the state who are hell-bent of pulling the state down.

It would be recalled that the Association of Izzi Media Workers (AIMW) has distanced itself and the Unwuera kindred from a controversial article by Mr. Cajetan Njoku, describing it as misleading and inciting.

In a statement jointly signed by Comrade Emmanuel Nwizi – the AIMW National President Comrade Moses Nwite – Secretary General, and Comrade Victor Chibueze Nwegede – Publicity Secretary, the media group emphasized that Njoku’s claims do not reflect the views of the Izzi people and warned against attempts to sow discord.

AIMW affirmed that appointments under Governor Francis Nwifuru are equitably distributed and urged all stakeholders to prioritize unity and peace.
