Anambra Police Command Celebrates DIG Ben Okolo’s Historic Initiation into Prestigious Agbalanze Society

The Anambra State Police Command has extended heartfelt congratulations to Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo fdc, on his initiation into the revered Agbalanze Society of Onicha Ado n’Idu Kingdom.

In a statement e-signed by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga issued on Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, speaking on behalf of officers and men of the Command, described DIG Okolo’s recognition as a remarkable honor that crowns his years of distinguished service to both the Nigeria Police Force and his community.

“DIG Ben Okolo’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and service has earned him this rare honour, making him one of the few serving Policemen to attain such a cultural feat,” the statement read.

The Agbalanze Society, celebrated for its deep ancestral heritage and emphasis on values such as courage, leadership, and community service, is regarded as one of the most prestigious traditional institutions in Onitsha. DIG Okolo’s successful initiation, therefore, represents not only a personal milestone but also a testament to his unwavering respect for cultural heritage and dedication to duty.

The occasion drew an array of eminent personalities including the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR; the Inspector General of Police represented by DIG Frank Mba mni; DIG Williams Adebowale fdc; DIG Basil Idegwu; AIG Zone 13 Abayomi Oladapo; as well as other senior Police Officers and respected members of society.
