The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has decorated fourteen newly promoted officers of the Command and unveiled a newly renovated Commissioner of Police Hall, a project made possible through the generosity of His Royal Highness Otonye Efebo, PhD (Shidi VII), the Amadabo of Shidi-Ama in Twon Brass, Bayelsa State.

The twin ceremony, according to a press release e-signed by Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu held on October 31, 2025, at the Police Headquarters in Awka, was described as “a moment of pride, motivation, and renewed commitment” by the Commissioner.

Speaking during the event, CP Orutugu congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to rededicate themselves to service.

“Your elevation is not just a reward but a call to greater responsibility, discipline, and professionalism,” the Police boss declared. “Promotion in the Force is both a recognition of performance and a challenge for higher responsibility.”

The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the renovated Commissioner of Police Hall, which CP Orutugu said would serve as an improved facility for strategic meetings, trainings, and conferences.

“This gesture by His Royal Highness reflects true patriotism and an investment in security development,” the CP remarked. “It also underscores the enduring partnership between traditional institutions and the Nigeria Police Force in strengthening community-oriented policing.”

In his goodwill message, HRH Otonye Efebo (Shidi VII), who hails from the same Brass Kingdom as CP Orutugu, praised the Commissioner for his leadership strides and dedication to community engagement.

“I am impressed by the discipline, visibility, and community trust your leadership has built across Anambra State,” the monarch said. “I will continue to support initiatives that promote peace, security, and stability in our society.”

Among the decorated officers were CSP Ikpeama Joy Chidimma (DPO Main Market), CSP Asso Emmanuel Agbuka (DPO Amanuke), CSP Nuhu Azeez (Officer-in-Charge of Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Obosi Sector), CSP Onyilo Thaddeus (Officer-in-Charge, Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Onitsha Sector), and ten others.

The event was graced by members of the Command’s Management Team, senior officers, families of the promoted personnel, and invited dignitaries. Highlights included the decoration ceremony, unveiling of the hall, and a group photograph session with the newly decorated officers and guests.
