Ebonyi ADC Laments Worst Economy Under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The Ebonyi State Chapter Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Mrs Jennifer Nwafor-Adibe, has expressed disappointment over the precarious economic situation in Nigeria, especially under the much touted Renewed Hope Agenda of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Adibe Nwafor barred her mind on Tuesday during an extraordinary and critical stakeholders meeting of the party held at the residence of former Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr.Sam Egwu in Umuebe, Ezzangbo, stating it is time to change the narrative.
According to Adibe, it is time for the ADC to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (ADC) and do things differently in order to address the socio-economic challenges of Nigerians.
Her words: “This party is different from other parties, where men and women have a say in politics. People have seen things. I think it’s time for us to change the narrative. So it’s time for us to actually engage and know what and what we need to do. One, to take over power. Two, to change the narrative”, she stated.
The Chairman further explained that it is not about seizing of power from the APC, but to churn out different policies in order get things in their right perspectives so that Nigeria can rise again.
“It’s not just about taking over power. But the different thing that we have to offer to the people. That will be different from what other people are providing already.
“I believe Nigeria will rise again. Not only are we rising, but we will rise and shine. When the current government is talking about renewed hope, and things are getting worse”,she lamented.
Speaking also during the extraordinary and critical stakeholders meeting, the first civilian governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu, who expressed delight over the turn out of party supporters, declared that the party is open for new members to register.
He explained that he was among politicians who were passionate with his former party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), until when the the party was killed after which he joined the coalition movement in order to restore the country from maladministration of the APC.
“We all loved PDP. But now that they have killed PDP, There’s nothing we can do. So there are two different things. For those who have left PDP, or other parties, to join ADC, as a coalition of a party, That they believed in that will restore this country.
“It’s different from those who, because of personal interests, left their parties, to join a ruling party. So for those of you who have remained steadfast, up to this time, that you now see that there is no other alternative than to come together, to join ADC, I want you to congratulate yourself, and clap hands for yourselves”, he noted.
Dr. Sam Egwu further recalled that the coalition leaders from across the country met in Abuja barely after two weeks he left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which culminated in the meeting by South East stakeholders, including Peter Obi, in Enugu to tell the people they were joining ADC.
“Yes! We met in Abuja, And there was good discussion from across the country. I did not leave PDP immediately, But just about two weeks ago, We decided, before the meeting at Enugu, to leave PDP. Most of the prominent Igbo leaders in the South East, came together with Peter Obi and said we are coming to Enugu to tell Igbos, the South Easterners that we are all joining ADC.
How many of you saw it? How many of you witnessed that meeting? You see, It was after that meeting that APC started getting a problem and uncomfortable .They had a meeting, a few days ago. Is it not true? They are very, very uncomfortable. But, There is nothing they can do”, Egwu boasted.
The extraordinary and critical stakeholders meeting was attended by national leaders of ADC from the Ebonyi State, Coalition leaders, former local government areas chairmen, ADC LGAs party chairmen, former coordinators of development centre among other teeming supporters.
