Maiduguri Blast: Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction Ministry Mourns Victims, Urges Unity and Vigilance

The Federal Ministry Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic bomb blast in Maiduguri, which claimed lives and left several others injured, describing the incident as a painful loss to the nation.
The Honourable Minister, Dr. Benard M. Doro according to a press statement e-signed by the ministry’s Director, Information and Public Relations, Janet McDickson said the attack was “deeply distressing,” as he extended heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Borno State particularly families who lost loved ones in the explosion.
“The incident is deeply distressing,” the minister stated, adding that his thoughts were with “the families who have lost loved ones in the unfortunate incident.”
Also reacting, the Honourable Minister of State, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu conveyed his sympathies, noting that the grief occasioned by the attack is shared across the country.
“The pain and trauma caused by such acts are shared by the entire nation,” Sununu said, urging Nigerians to remain united and resilient in the face of adversity.
Both ministers reaffirmed the ministry’s support for victims and affected communities, emphasizing solidarity during the difficult period.
“The Ministry stands in solidarity with the people of Borno State during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we pray for the speedy recovery of those injured,” the ministers jointly stated.
The ministry further called on citizens to remain calm and vigilant, while encouraging collective responsibility in promoting peace and national unity.
