The Ebonyi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ngbo, has honoured its immediate past Provost, Stephen Nwamkpuma, while celebrating the successful digitalization of its academic results system, a move that the current Provost, Princess Chibueze Chetachi Jerry Osulor, says has significantly enhanced institutional efficiency.

Speaking at a send-forth ceremony held in Nwamkpuma’s honour, Osulor highlighted that the college’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives have improved the processing, management, and accessibility of students’ examination results.

She credited the achievement to strategic leadership and sustained investment in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure.

“We conducted examinations last month, and I am pleased to report that over 70 per cent of our students have successfully accessed their results via the enhanced system,” Osulor said, describing the development as a major step toward modernising academic and administrative processes in line with global best practices in health sciences education.

According to the Provost, the college now operates a robust digital ecosystem that streamlines result processing workflows, reinforces data integrity, minimizes administrative bottlenecks, and improves overall efficiency. She cautioned that institutions lacking accreditation-compliant digital systems risk undermining student satisfaction and institutional credibility.

Osulor also highlighted academic progress, revealing that three of the college’s four departments have secured accreditation, describing this as critical to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring the professional competence of graduates in the health sector.

In addition, she commended the outgoing Provost for securing permanent employment for five adhoc staff and using his influence to employ the remaining one, acknowledging their contributions to the college’s growth and describing Nwamkpuma’s departure as a significant loss to the community.

The college’s Registrar, Grace Umahi, praised Osulor’s leadership, noting that the digital reforms were the result of deliberate planning and coordinated execution by the management.

Similarly, the Bursar, Philip Ibinna, acknowledged the outgoing Provost’s landmark achievements while applauding his successor for making significant strides in the institution’s development.

Student representatives, including leaders of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), also expressed appreciation for the improved academic experience, particularly the ease and timeliness of accessing examination results—a marked departure from previous challenges.

The event featured tributes and goodwill messages from various stakeholders, highlighting the growing role of digital innovation in strengthening health education delivery and institutional governance in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.

In his response, Nwamkpuma thanked the management for the ceremony and pledged his continued support for the advancement of the college.
