As a socio-political youth organization, Ebonyi South Youth Assembly, has challenged the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate, Professor Bernard Odoh to make public his achievements both as a former Secretary to the Government of Ebonyi and a lecture in the University.

A press statement issued on Friday in Abakaliki and signed by Comrade Odii Njoku National President
Ebonyi South Youths Assembly as a response to Odoh’s claims that he possesses meaningful qualifications to represent the zone.

The Assembly in its swift reaction called on Professor Odoh to formally present his achievements to be assessed and verified by the people of the zone, stating that the incumbent Senator Ken Eze, has distinguished himself as a Senator from the zone.

Comrade Odii Njoku disclosed that Ken Eze has records of his performance as a Senator in the public domain.

The statement reads in part, “The Assembly notes that the serving Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, Senator Ken Eze, has established a record in office that is already subject to public scrutiny.

“Reports of employment opportunities facilitated for constituents, constituency development projects, youth empowerment initiatives, and legislative interventions undertaken within the first three years of his tenure are matters that can be independently verified and objectively assessed by the electorate.

Comrade Odii Njoku as well invited Professor Odoh Bernard to present his scorecard for public assessment.

“In the same vein, we respectfully urge Professor Odoh, having publicly projected himself as the most suitable candidate for the office, to equally present to the people a comprehensive account of his own achievements and antecedents.

“As a former university lecturer and former Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government, the public deserves to know the measurable impact he made in those positions, the policies and initiatives he championed, his contributions to the development of Ebonyi State, and the personal credentials that distinguish him as the preferred choice of the electorate.

“Furthermore Odoh should tell us the issues surrounding his professorship which cost him the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe Federal University Awka”, the statement said.
