Senator Eze Builds Mansion Before Becoming A Senator,Says Ebonyi Youths

The Ebonyi Central Youths Alliance has defended the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, Senator Kenneth Emeka Eze, over a viral report questioning the ownership of his country home mansion, insisting that the property was built long before he became a member of the National Assembly.
The group was reacting to a report aired by Arise Television, which questioned the ownership of the mansion and the source of funds used in constructing it.
In a statement signed by its National President, Comrade Timothy Nwafor, the group described the report as misleading, alleging that it was based on unverified claims rather than thorough investigation.
According to the group, Senator Eze built the mansion before his election into the Senate and accumulated his wealth through years of successful private business ventures.
“Senator Eze’s house was built before he entered elective politics. His wealth was founded on decades of legitimate private-sector success rather than public office. Leadership should not be measured by the size of a residence but by tangible achievements and the positive impact made on constituents,” the statement said.
The group expressed surprise that a reputable media organisation would broadcast such allegations without carrying out an independent investigation, suggesting that the report may have been influenced by political opponents.
It also questioned whether there was any constitutional provision preventing a successful businessman from retaining property acquired before assuming public office.
“Is there any constitutional provision requiring a senator to sell his house before becoming a senator? Is it the most expensive house in Nigeria?” the group asked.
The alliance described Senator Eze as an accomplished engineer, entrepreneur, consultant and investor who attained financial independence long before venturing into politics.
It stated that after completing the National Youth Service Corps, Eze began his professional career with the National Engineering and Technical Company (NETCO), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where he worked for four years before establishing CRISPMOON Nigeria Limited and CRISPMOON Technology Nigeria Limited.
According to the group, the companies provided engineering consultancy, ICT and oil and gas services to multinational oil firms, financial institutions and government agencies.
It added that Eze later founded ZIONGATES Construction Company Nigeria Limited, further expanding his interests in engineering, technical services and infrastructure development.
The group maintained that by the time he entered politics, he had already built a successful career in business and entrepreneurship.
It also highlighted what it described as the senator’s achievements in office, including scholarship awards, youth empowerment initiatives, facilitation of federal employment opportunities and the execution of constituency development projects.
The alliance urged Nigerians to assess Senator Eze based on his legislative performance and contributions to national development rather than speculation about his personal assets.
It also called on media organisations to uphold the principles of fairness, accuracy and responsible journalism by verifying information before publication.
The group urged the public to disregard what it described as politically motivated reports aimed at tarnishing the image of the senator.
