OCH’ENONE COMMENDS COMMISSIONER UGWU ODOH DURING GOVERNOR ALIA’S VISIT

His Royal Highness, Chief George Edeh, the Och’Enone, has commended the Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Ugwu Odoh, for what he described as his outstanding performance and impact across the nine Local Government Areas of Benue South Senatorial District, popularly known as Zone C.
The royal father made the commendation when the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, paid a courtesy visit to his palace as part of the Governor’s statewide tour of Local Government Areas. The tour provided an opportunity for the Governor to interact directly with the people at the grassroots, appreciate their support and listen to issues of concern to the various communities.
Welcoming the Governor to his palace, the Och’Enone expressed appreciation to the Alia administration for its support and developmental efforts across the state. He particularly appealed to the Governor to sustain his efforts towards the realisation of the Ado Cement Factory, noting that the revival of the project would have significant economic and industrial implications for Ado Local Government Area and Benue State.
The royal father further commended Governor Alia for his recent appointments, particularly the inclusion of another indigene of the area in the State Executive Council. He described the appointments as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to inclusiveness, representation and the participation of people from different parts of the state in governance.
Speaking particularly, the Och’Enone singled out the Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Ugwu Odoh, for special recognition, describing his performance across the nine Local Government Areas of Zone C as outstanding.
“I want to use this opportunity to also recognise and thank you for one particular appointment you have made that has worked excellently well across the nine local government areas in Zone C. I am referring to the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Ugwu Odoh,” the royal father said.
Responding, Governor Alia expressed appreciation to Chief George Edeh for the warm reception, recognition and kind words about his administration. He said the commendation of Commissioner Ugwu Odoh was significant because it demonstrated that the people were paying attention to the activities and performance of government officials across the state.
The Governor said the recognition should also serve as encouragement to other members of the State Executive Council and political appointees to remain committed to their responsibilities and maintain close contact with the people they were appointed to serve.
Governor Alia urged any appointee who might not be meeting the expectations of the people to sit up, get closer to the grassroots, listen to their concerns and redouble efforts towards delivering meaningful development and the dividends of good governance.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, responsive leadership and the implementation of development initiatives capable of improving the lives of the people of Benue State.
