Ado Council Boss Honours Late Councillor Agnes Igwe at Emotional Burial

The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, on Friday, September 12, 2025, joined family, friends, and political associates to pay his final respects at the burial of Late Hon. Agnes Igwe, the immediate past Ogege Ward Councillor.

The burial, which took place at her husband’s family residence in Watuolo, Ogege, Utonkon, followed a solemn valedictory session at the Ado Local Government secretariat, where councillors and legislative leaders showered glowing tributes on the deceased.

Hon. Igwe, who passed away on June 30, 2025, after a brief illness, was remembered for her selfless service to her community and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speakers at the session praised her unwavering commitment to grassroots development, her compassionate nature, and her pursuit of an egalitarian society.

Engr. Oche, according to a press release e-signed by  his Principal Private Secretary, Innocent Igelle described the late councillor as “a highly  dedicated and responsive individual” whose interventions during legislative deliberations left lasting impacts. He urged fellow lawmakers to preserve her memory through continued dedication to community service.

Reaffirming his support to the bereaved family, the Chairman attended the entire burial proceedings, pledging that Hon. Igwe’s contributions and legacy would never be forgotten.

Late Hon. Agnes Igwe is remembered as a beacon of kindness, teamwork, and service to humanity. Her passing leaves a void in Ado’s political and social landscape, but her legacy remains an enduring inspiration.
