Maiduguri Blast: NEMA Delivers Urgent Medical Aid, Relief Materials as Shettima Assures Victims of Full Recovery

The Federal Government has intensified its humanitarian response to victims of the recent explosions in Maiduguri, as the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) deployed critical medical supplies and relief materials to support treatment and recovery efforts.

 

The Director-General of National Emergency Management Agency, Zubaida Umar  led the delivery of medical consumables and assorted medicaments on Wednesday during a high-level visit to the Borno State capital alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima.

 

The agency according to media report e-signed by the agency media head, Press Unit, Manzo Ezekiel also distributed food and non-food items to families affected by the tragic incident, reinforcing ongoing efforts to cushion the impact of the disaster on survivors.

 

During a visit to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where several victims are receiving treatment, Shettima expressed deep sympathy and reassured patients of the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to their full recovery. He disclosed that the medical supplies were provided through NEMA to complement ongoing treatment efforts at the facility.

 

“This intervention is part of our resolve to ensure that victims receive the best possible care and support in the aftermath of this unfortunate incident,” the Vice President said while addressing hospital officials.

 

The delegation also included the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Umar Usman Kadafur, and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Special Duties, Kaka Shehu Lawan.

 

The intervention underscores the Federal Government’s continued commitment to delivering timely humanitarian assistance and medical support to victims of emergencies nationwide.

Officials say further support measures may be rolled out as recovery efforts continue in Maiduguri.
