Negative Reports Against DUFUHS Are Malicious Attacks by Disgruntled Individuals – Shittu

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS), Barr. Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu, has characterized the negative reports disseminated in certain media outlets as a calculated smear campaign orchestrated by frustrated individuals intent on destabilizing the university.
Barr. Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu disclosed this during a routine meeting of the DUFUHS Governing Council held at the university.
He asserted that academic activities within the institution are stable and that there exists no form of instability, emphasizing the harmonious collaboration between the governing council and the management of DUFUHS.
Moreover, he refuted claims suggesting that he had been marginalized in the day-to-day operations of DUFUHS, stating that with over forty years of political experience, he is both well-versed and adept.
He stated, “We do not encounter any issues of instability. The governing council, composed of distinguished Nigerians from across the nation, stands united with us. We enjoy an exceptional synergy between the governing council and the university’s management.
“I was taken aback two days ago when I received a call from a purported journalist, who informed me that they had learned I had been sidelined. I responded by indicating that they were seeking information, presumably of a negative nature.
“I conveyed to them that I harbor no grievances against anyone. No one has sidelined me, nor could anyone do so. I am a seasoned politician, having been engaged in politics for a total of 47 years. I have no complaints. We operate here as a family.
“Any negative information you encounter is, without a doubt, a malicious endeavor by frustrated individuals lacking nobility and seeking to disrupt the university,”he asserted.
He described the university as one of the premier institutions in the federation, boasting remarkable facilities and an exemplary environment, adding, “There are scarcely any other universities that can rival the quality of what we offer here,”he stated.
Additionally, Paul Ogbe, a member of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS) and representative of the Ministry of Education, denounced the allegations against DUFUHS as baseless.
He stated, “The information being circulated is entirely unfounded. We stand in solidarity with the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro-Chancellor, and Chairman of the Council, and my esteemed colleague here; we are in good standing,”he remarked.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS) and member of the Governing Council, Prof. Jesse Uneke, asserted that the university remains stable and is not swayed by any malicious publications.
He remarked, “We remain unfazed by such claims, as it is natural that those who are not pleased will emerge when one is excelling.
“We are content. Inquire with the students and their parents, and they will attest to the fact that this university is performing exceptionally well. A glance at the infrastructure will reveal that the governing council is overseeing operations effectively.
“All construction activities underway at this university are diligently managed under the council’s supervision. The council is truly fulfilling its responsibilities. The university remains remarkably stable.
“We do not face any issues, either academically or administratively. This further attests to the fact that the council is executing its duties with commendable efficacy,”he stated.
It is noteworthy that a recent publication by SaharaReporters accused Tinubu’s Minister Umahi of managing DUFUHS as if it were his personal domain.
