Interior Ministry Drives Reform Agenda with PPP Push to Boost Service Delivery

In a strategic move to deepen reforms and improve public service delivery, Nigeria’s Ministry of Interior has intensified efforts to adopt Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, positioning the private sector as a key driver of efficiency, innovation, and sustainable development.
The Ministry hosted a high-level PPP Sensitization Workshop in Abuja, bringing together directors, technical officers, and key stakeholders to strengthen institutional capacity and explore investment opportunities aligned with national development priorities.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior and e-signed by Mary Ali, Head of Press and Public Relations, the workshop is part of ongoing reform initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, bridging infrastructure gaps, and improving service outcomes across the Ministry’s operations.
In her welcome address, Deputy Director, Special Duties, Adogeri Beloved, described the initiative as a deliberate step toward modernising public sector operations.
“This sensitization programme is designed to expose staff to modern financing and operational models capable of improving service delivery and fostering innovation,” she said.
Representing the Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the Director of Human Resources Management, Catherine Zozi, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to institutional strengthening through strategic partnerships.
“Public-Private Partnerships are critical to delivering value for money, enhancing transparency, and fostering innovation in public service delivery,” she noted.
Also lending his voice, Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Johnson Ewalefoh, commended the Ministry for embracing PPP frameworks.
“Strong collaboration between government institutions and the private sector is key to unlocking economic potential and addressing infrastructure deficits,” he said, while assuring continued regulatory and technical support.
The workshop featured expert-led sessions on PPP implementation, project structuring, risk management, and regulatory compliance, equipping participants with practical tools to identify viable and bankable projects.
The initiative underscores the Ministry’s broader commitment to leveraging innovative financing models to deliver transparent, efficient, and citizen-focused services, in line with Nigeria’s evolving reform agenda.
