NNPC Boss Ojulari Clinches Vanguard Energy Innovation Award for Reforms, Sector Impact

The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has been honoured with the Energy Innovation and Reform Icon of the Year Award by Vanguard Media Limited, in recognition of his contributions to transforming Nigeria’s energy sector.
The award, presented at a ceremony in Lagos, underscores Ojulari’s leadership in driving strategic reforms, strengthening corporate governance, and advancing innovation within the national oil company.
According to a statement issued by NNPC Limited and signed by Andy Odeh, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, the award was received on behalf of the GCEO by Sophia Mbakwe, Executive Vice President, Business Services.
The presentation was made by Ayodeji Adelagun, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, who commended the NNPC leadership for its role in repositioning the energy sector.
Vanguard Media Limited noted that the recognition followed Ojulari’s “giant strides” in enhancing operational efficiency and implementing reforms that are reshaping Nigeria’s energy landscape.

Receiving the award on his behalf, Mbakwe reiterated the company’s commitment to sustaining reform momentum and delivering value-driven outcomes.
