Bauhaus Assures Nigerians of Quality as President Tinubu Commissions Akwanga Township Dual Carriageway

Bauhaus Global Investment Nigeria Limited has assured Nigerians and road users of the durability and world-class quality of the newly commissioned 3.7-kilometre Akwanga Township Dual Carriageway and underpass in Nasarawa State, describing the project as one built to the highest engineering and highway construction standards.

 

The assurance was given by a Director of the company, Engr. Fagboluwa Akinlabi, shortly before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned the strategic road project in Akwanga as part of the Government’s drive to modernise critical transport infrastructure and improve connectivity across the North-Central, North-East and other regions of the country.

Speaking with journalists before the commissioning, Akinlabi urged residents and road users to make judicious use of the facility and protect its associated infrastructure from vandalism.

“The Akwanga Township Dual Carriageway is one of the state-of-the-art highway projects recently delivered by Bahaus Global Nigeria Limited. We assure Nigerians that this road was constructed with strict adherence to quality assurance measures, highway standards and engineering building codes capable of standing the test of time,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Government and people of Nasarawa State for the confidence reposed in the company, noting that the successful delivery of the project demonstrates Bahaus Global’s commitment to excellence in infrastructure development.

Akinlabi also pledged the company’s readiness to sustain partnerships with the Nasarawa State Government in executing projects that would accelerate socio-economic development.

“We appreciate the support and cooperation we received during the execution of this project. We remain committed to collaborating with government at all levels in delivering quality infrastructure that meets international standards,” he added.

Also speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Agency (NUDA), Engr. Mohammed Wada Yahaya said the project was executed through a partnership involving the Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Works and the Nasarawa State Government, with strict compliance to approved engineering specifications.

According to him, the dual carriageway and underpass were constructed at an estimated cost of ₦13 billion, adding that quality assurance remained a top priority throughout the implementation process.

“We ensured strict observance of highway construction standards and quality assurance procedures from commencement to completion. We are delighted that the project was delivered within the stipulated timeframe,” Yahaya stated.

The commissioning which was performed by the national chairman of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the representative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attracted top government officials and political leaders, including Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, Royal Fathers  alongside other dignitaries.

The event also featured the official flag-off of the construction of the nearly 600-kilometre Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Maiduguri Super Highway, a strategic federal road corridor expected to improve regional connectivity, facilitate trade, enhance security and stimulate economic growth across the North-Central and North-East geopolitical zones.

The commissioning of the Akwanga Township Dual Carriageway marks another milestone in the Federal Government’s infrastructure renewal programme, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the project will ease traffic congestion, improve road safety and support economic activities in Nasarawa State and beyond.
