Ado Local Government Chairman Conducts Site Mapping for Igumale Solarisation Project
By Pan Afric Reporters
The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche, has personally led a comprehensive site mapping exercise for the solarisation of Igumale, the headquarters of Ado Local Government, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure through meticulous planning, direct supervision, and purposeful leadership. The exercise forms part of the implementation of the ongoing “Operation Light Up Ado” initiative aimed at improving public safety, promoting economic activities, and enhancing the quality of life across the ten wards.
Accompanied by the Leader of the Ado Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Agbo Adadu; the Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman on Revenue and Chairman of the Revenue Task Force, Hon. Jacob Egwurube; the Council Recorder, Mr. Gowon Obande; and other key officials, the Chairman undertook an extensive inspection of strategic locations within Igumale to identify the most suitable points for the installation of solar street light poles. The exercise was designed to ensure that the project is implemented efficiently and in a manner that delivers maximum benefits to residents and visitors alike.
The Chairman’s direct involvement underscores his leadership philosophy that effective governance demands active participation, careful monitoring, and attention to detail. Rather than relying solely on technical reports, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche considered it imperative to personally assess the proposed locations, drawing on his firsthand knowledge of the terrain and identifying areas that require priority attention because of their strategic importance, security concerns, and high public traffic. This hands-on approach reflects his determination to ensure that every public investment achieves its intended purpose.
For the Chairman, the development of Igumale remains a top priority. As the administrative headquarters of Ado Local Government, Igumale occupies a special place in his vision for sustainable development. This informed his earlier decision to engage Arch. Agbo Adai to develop a comprehensive reconstruction plan that will transform Igumale into a modern and befitting local government headquarters comparable to its counterparts across the country. The solarisation project therefore represents another significant milestone in the administration’s broader agenda of urban renewal, improved public infrastructure, and enhanced security.
The Executive Chairman reiterated his commitment to implementing people-oriented projects with transparency, professionalism, and excellence, while assuring residents that every intervention undertaken by his administration is guided by the collective interest of the people. He expressed confidence that the solarisation of Igumale will not only improve night-time visibility and strengthen security but also stimulate commercial activities and reinforce the administration’s vision of building a safer, more attractive, and more prosperous Ado Local Government Area.
