Ukwonyo Ward: Hon. Ede Ojoko Francis Fulfils Campaign Promise, Delivers Culvert Project to Onwigwe Community

ADO LGA, BENUE STATE – Councillor representing Ukwonyo Ward in Ado Local Government Area, Hon. Ede Ojoko Francis, has fulfilled a key campaign promise with the construction of a culvert linking communities in the ward to Onwigwe community, providing a vital access route for residents and facilitating movement and socio-economic activities.
The project was commissioned by the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche, in the presence of community leaders, political stakeholders, youths and residents. The commissioning marked another practical intervention at the grassroots level aimed at addressing an identified community need.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche commended Hon. Ede Ojoko Francis for translating his campaign commitment into a tangible development project. He described the initiative as a demonstration of responsive representation and urged other elected representatives to identify the pressing needs of their constituents and pursue practical solutions that would improve their living conditions.
The Chairman emphasised that sustainable development begins at the grassroots, noting that elected representatives are better positioned to identify and respond to the immediate challenges confronting their communities. He assured elected representatives and residents of the continued support of the local government administration for initiatives that promote development and improve access across the wards.
In his remarks, Hon. Ede Ojoko Francis expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his leadership, encouragement and support. He explained that the culvert was constructed to address the difficulties previously experienced by residents using the route, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall. He said the project represents his commitment to practical representation and his determination to deliver initiatives with direct benefits to the people of Ukwonyo Ward.
Hon. Ede described the culvert as an important link between communities and a step towards strengthening community integration and economic activities. He reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing additional development interventions based on the needs of his constituents and pledged to continue working with the local government leadership and other stakeholders to attract meaningful projects to Ukwonyo Ward.
The Councillor also expressed support for the development agenda of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, noting that effective collaboration among the state government, local government and grassroots representatives remains essential to extending the benefits of government programmes and development initiatives to communities across Ado Local Government Area.
He called on the people of Ukwonyo Ward to continue supporting and cooperating with elected representatives and other stakeholders, assuring them that the culvert project was only one of the interventions being pursued in response to identified community needs.
