DAILY HOPE DEVOTIONAL: JULY 9 LIVING AN ORGANIZED LIFE (1) SCRIPTURE: LUKE 14: 28 – 30; 1 CORNITHIANS 14: 40
The present world has so much advanced in knowledge, technology, and intellectual; and of course spiritual. However, things seem going on differently. The more the world is advancing in knowledge about everything needed to build up a well organize system, the more things are getting woefully disorganized. Several forms of governments and nature attempted have not given the world the expected respites. Wars upon wars are been fought for emancipation or independence. Military coups have repeatedly taken place, aiming at giving the poor masses good governance, yet worst governments are still springing up. Many projects were envisaged, planned, cost and awarded aiming at alleviating people’s problems; yet the problems keep starring on our faces. Much money has been spent on building war arsenals, for fighting enemies to bring about security and peace. Many of these have become obsolete with the money spent wasted. Many things are still under chaos, simply because many people who should be handling things orderly are not organized themselves. The problems of the world are not lack of knowledge, technologies, capacity building or anything. The problem lies on the world’s lacking in people who possess organized life and blended personal management.
Today’s devotional feels that if human beings are concretely organized living wise, the world will be organized. How many people, desiring to start business; build either gas plant or hydroelectric plant, for instance, first sit down to count the costs? Many people went into marriage without a good plan to run their homes. The aftermath is broken marriage. This in turn has produced disorganized and disillusioned offspring. We have societies full of people who are hurt because in their early years due to various degrees of abuses. The Bible says that “But all things should be done decently and in order” (1 Cor. 14: 40 ESV). Key to durable success and fulfillment in this world is living an organized lifestyle, individually and corporately.
When we start living a disorganized life from adolescent age, grow in into adult stage, we will definitely infect the world with our disorderly manners. The vicious circles have been expanding and permeating every facet of the society. Living an organized life involves many things. It means living a well ordered and sensible life style. It means living a life marked with achieving effective aims and impact. It is not far from living a life of marked activities, well planned and coordinated to arrive at efficient manifestation. A person of organized life is one who systematically planned what to do and carried it out without deviation and following the plans consistently till good results show up. The issues of living an organized life should cut across religion, culture, tribal laws as well as orthodox laws. It concerns every one of us.
ACTION TO TAKE:
Take a flash back in your life and see if there are things you failed to do which the cause was yours. Think of any opportunity that you had come across, and how you messed it up by your reckless living style. See how you would have organized yourself then, to convert the opportunity to useful life. Pray on the findings asking God to show you the new steps for self-organized lifestyles.
